"A top performance - considering the pandemic-related security measures that had to be taken into account and the parcel volumes that already in spring reminded us of Christmas. In impressive teamwork we have managed it nevertheless!“

Learn here how the AMETRAS and DPD project team managed to meet the Go Live deadline despite the great urgency. Also find out what special requests had to be considered.
In spring-time this year, AMETRAS vision GmbH received orders from DPD's national subsidiaries in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Belgium, Croatia and Slovenia to introduce a new scanning system including a scan server. The challenge: The implementation should be completed at all locations even before the peak season. A really ambitious goal, to implement a fully functional system simultaneously in five organizations within only six months!
„A top performance - considering the pandemic-related security measures that had to be taken into account and the parcel volumes that already in spring reminded us of Christmas. In impressive teamwork we have managed it nevertheless!“says Ulrich Eberbach, Managing Director of AMETRAS vision GmbH.
The starting point in each case was a requirements workshop with each of the five DPD national companies and the creation of a trilingual team within the AMETRAS vision. In addition, a project manager was appointed for each business unit to coordinate and agree all concerns and requirements directly with the project management colleagues on the customer side.
Not only the ensuring of efficient communication and precise preparation, but also - or especially - the professional cooperation of DPD's national organisations enabled smooth project management during the individual steps of the implementation phase:
FLOW OF COMMUNICATION
Via the AMETRAS ticketing system, requests for new features, such as new workflows, were recorded and directly transmitted to the appropriate employees for verification. At any time, all important information was thus transparent and immediately available to all participants at a central location, and unnecessary e-mail traffic was avoided.
In regular online meetings, the results of the work were discussed and open questions clarified. Changes were immediately logged in the ticketing system. It quickly became clear that, thanks to their many years of project experience with the DPDgroup, AMETRAS employees are very familiar with all relevant processes and therefore speak the same language, so to speak - a particular advantage throughout the entire project.
In October the time had come: Go Live!
In all five national subsidiaries of the DPDgroup, the full scanning solution named APF scan+ was rolled out on schedule. Thanks to excellent planning, team-oriented cooperation and the commitment of all involved, the introduction of the new scanning solution was a complete success.
The AMETRAS vision team is already working on a Brexit workflow - and, as is so often the case, it has to be fast. It is scheduled to go live as early as the end of November. Will AMETRAS also achieve this goal? We say: "Yes!”
