Every year, around 2,200 children in Germany are newly diagnosed with cancer. For the families affected, this diagnosis marks not only the beginning of a life-and-death struggle, but also an enormous organisational and emotional challenge. Many treatments – intensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy – take place in specialised paediatric cancer centres at university hospitals, often far away from the families' homes.
This makes the outpatient care provided at St. Elisabethen-Klinikum in Ravensburg all the more valuable. During therapy-free phases, young patients receive outpatient and inpatient care from a team of paediatric haematologists.
"The outpatient care provided to children with cancer at St. Elisabethen-Klinikum in Ravensburg is invaluable for the children affected and their families in our region. As a local point of contact, it enables high-quality medical care without hours of driving and without the additional stress of family separation. I am delighted that we are able to support this important work with our donation from AMETRAS vision," says Managing Director Ulrich Eberbach.
Christmas is the best time to think of others. That's why we decided to donate the €1,500 earmarked for customer gifts to the team led by Chief Physician Dr Artlich at St. Elisabethen-Klinikum.
