All vehicles and drivers are recorded and documented to the greatest possible extent at the entrance and exit. All data are gathered in the control station. In order to determine exactly the current position of the swap bodies and vehicles on the courtyard, the RFID technology has been used at the swap body and entrance gate. The following areas are optimised by the yard logistics from AMETRAS.

Vehicles and drivers are recorded to the greatest possible extent at the entrance and exit and all recorded data are documented.

The depot manager receives the current positions of all vehicles and swap bodies in the courtyard.

The system calculates the transport orders automatically and proposes them to the depot manager for confirmation and correction.

Shunters receive their transport orders automatically via data radio.

Shunting orders are optimised by means of the courtyard tracking.

By the documentation of all routes and the corresponding timestamps a performance evaluation and improvement of the system and the employees is possible.

Automatic optimisation of the depot

Concerning the barrier throughput times an optimisation of >50% could be achieved by the yard logistics from AMETRAS. The planning of the ramp occupation has been already better adapted in advance to the structure of the shipment due to the data transmitted by EDI. The shortening of shunting routes by an appropriate parking space organisation and a digital communication with the MAFI drivers has led to considerable savings of time. The automatic tracking of swap bodies on the courtyard also leads to an optimisation of shunting routes.
